Lama Yeshe Rinpoche for a retreat on Holy Isle. The practice sessions
will be led by Choden and Sarah Lionheart and will focus on the
development of mindfulness, compassion and forgiveness. Lama Yeshe will
lead some of the sessions and give some talks. He will also be
available for personal interviews and will lead some relaxing walks on
our beautiful retreat island.

time for
calming down from our busy lives using mindfulness, guided deep
relaxations, breathing work and also some gentle stretches from the
Hatha Yoga tradition which will be simple and suitable for everyone. The emphasis will be on learning how
to quieten the whole being and be able to rest in this calm state.
People will leave this course feeling more relaxed and with some useful
tools for de-stressing in daily life. It also promises to be fun!

Mindfulness and Meditation with Support: A Day
of Explanation, Practice and Teachings on the Psychology of Meditation with
Sarah Lionheart
Sarah has an MA from Stanford University and whilst studying for her PhD at Durham University
she began more traning in meditaiton. Sarah has trained in three
traditions: Christianity, Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism. In her twenties
she was a bramacharini in the Ramakrishna Vivekanandra Kendra, then in a
teaching Catholic order (via a silent Carmelite monastery) and now is a wife,
mother and yoga teacher training in Tibetan Buddhism.
Sarah teaches with a good balance of serious explanation and touches of humour
as she refers to incidents in her own training and stories from the various
traditions. There will be at least four sessions of meditation
during the day.....where the students practice what Sarah has just taught and
then give feedback and ask questions about the practice.
Yoga mats are not required. Bring something to sit comfortably either on
the floor or a chair or for both. We will stretch a little now and again
so as not to get too stiff or uncomfortable.
